TOTAL CONSECRATION TO JESUS THROUGH MARY – OUR LADY OF SORROWS

“Let me mingle tears with thee; mourning Him who mourned for me;

All the days that I may live.”

The feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows is Sunday, September 15th.  It is a day that bears such impact to me because it was the day I received the call from one of Wyatt’s oncologists to tell us for the first time that he had relapsed, dropping his chance of survival from 85% to less than 50%.  It was one of the days that I felt what seemed to be, a sword pierce my own heart.  Who more than Our Blessed Mother Mary understands the grief of losing a child!  St. Louis Marie DeMontfort gifted us with the 33 day consecration to Jesus through Mary, and I hope to re-consecrate myself on that day.  The preparation must be started on Tuesday, August 13th.  What an honor to share in Mary’s sorrow through this consecration and how incredibly blessed to have this holy Mother of Jesus to share this journey with!

FOR EACH AND EVERY BROKEN MOMMY

It is Good Friday.  It is the day of remembrance, of the day Jesus was beaten, tortured and hung on the cross, all while his mother looked on, following him, drenched in her own agony, even as His blood spilled onto the ground all around her.  Two years ago today my own child’s suffering came to an end as I watched death come to him.  On this day, and for all time, I unite my pain to that immeasurable pain of my dearest Mother Mary.  Our Lady of Sorrows, you who fully understand the heart of a grieving mother, please pray for each and every broken mommy.
